Asking the Right Questions…

“Why isn’t our church growing? Why do people seem indifferent? Why are people not attending church or our ministries? Why is our budget suffering?” If you are in any form of ministry, you would have probably heard questions just like these ones. Or maybe you have asked them yourself. I have been thinking through these questions lately and though they are good ones to ask, I think we are asking the wrong questions. Below are some of the questions that I believe should be asked instead:

Do people have a passion for God’s glory?

Are people passionate in worship with a longing of intimacy?

Are people being discipled?

Is prayer a priority in the church, both individually and corporately?

Do people treasure Him above all other things? Does that come out in their generosity and giving to the church?

Are people using their gifts in the service of the church?

Do we rely too much in finding people to fill gaps in our ministries rather than utilizing their gifts in establishing new ministries?

These are my questions… do you have any to add?
